Basic Registration

Foals or offspring of any age from a combination of any of the gaited horse breeds are eligible for the regular registration fee. No video is required for horses registered with other established gaited breeds, such as TWHBEA (Walkers), MFTHBA (Foxtrotters), PFHA (Pasos), Rocky Mountain Horses (RMH) Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horses (KMSH), & etc. A copy of both parents registration papers is required in lieu of video.

Hardship Clause

Hardship Clause ~ Application for registration of good quality, gaited horses of unknown or unregistered parents is possible under the Hardship Clause. Applications falling under the Hardship Clause must be submitted with a video email attachment, YouTube link or DVD showing the horse performing an easy-riding soft gait, such as the running walk, flat walk, rack, pace, stepping pace, foxtrot, slow saddle gait or single-foot. The PSHR reserves the right to deny registration of any horse that does not pass inspection for gait.

Transfer of Title/Ownership

Transfer fees may be paid online, but you will need to mail the original signed certificate to us in order to complete the transfer. Mail certificate to Pleasure Saddle Horse Registry - P.O. Box 1445 - Paragould, AR 72451. The certificate will be transferred into your name and returned to you. You may send check or money order with the certificate.

Duplicate Registration Certificate

Duplicate Registration Certificate ~ If oringinal is lost, a duplicate registration certificate can be issued to the registered owner of the horse. An explanation of why it is being applied for must accompany the request for a duplicate certificate. Once the duplicate is issued, the original certificate automatically becomes null and void.

Any Alteration after Certificate has
been Issued

If an error is due to a clerical mistake by the office, corrections are made free of charge. There is a $35 charge if you wish to change a horse's name or find there is a mistake on the certificate that is not the fault of the office. The original certificate must be returned to the PSHR office for any official changes; you cannot edit them yourself.

FAQs

How do I register my horse?

Registration begins with an application. An online application can be submitted through email attachment, or it can be mailed to us via US Mail. We will need 2 photos of the horse showing both sides. One of these photos will be used on the registration certificate. For foal or any age of offspring registration we will need a copy of both parents gaited registration papers. These can be a combination of any gaited horse breeds.

How to pay?

Payments are accepted via PayPal links provided above. Credit cards are accepted through PayPal only. You may also mail payment to Pleasure Saddle Horse Registry - P.O. Box 1445 - Paragould, AR 72451. Payments must be made in U.S. dollars. Personal checks or money orders are also accepted.

My horse is already registered with another gaited breed. Can it be registered with the PSHR also?

Yes, the PSHR welcomes horses registered in other gaited breed associations. To double register your horse please submit the registration application forms along with a copy of your horse's other breed registry certificate, 2 photos showing both sides of horse and the regular registration fee. No video is required.

What is a gaited horse?

A gaited horse is one which performs any of the soft easy-riding four-beat gaits in place of or in addition to the trot. These gaits are the running walk, the stepping pace, pace, the foxtrot, flat walk, slow saddle gait, single-foot, and the rack.

Can I register my gaited horse with unknown parents?

Yes, the PSHR offers a hardship clause for registering good quality gaited horses of unknown or unregistered parents. Applications falling under the hardship clause must be submitted with a video email attachment, YouTube link or DVD showing the horse performing a easy-riding soft gait, such as the running walk, flat walk, rack, pace, stepping pace, foxtrot, slow saddle gait or single-foot.
